i'm a big Final Fantasy and Resident Evil fan.

Never got in to the Final Fantasy hype, I love RE tho

the ps1 era of final fantasy was the best, FF7-9

10 was good on ps2, 12 I never played. 13 was cool but it changed up the fighting and made the game more linear(not really a bad thing) 15 was awesome.

I got the remake for free with PS Plus, I should try it. I have nothing to lose

If you haven't played the original you might not like it. it's not really a full remake. It's only the first section of the game which takes about 3 hours in the original, it's 40 or so in the new one.

and then when you get to the end they change it up and it gets crazy, idk where they plan to take it.

I like games that have a story, like playing an interactive movie.

ya sekiro is much more "on rails with a story" at least. but this is true of the other games, all the story is in the lore

I could never get into like the mario games and stuff because there wasn't much motivation. sure the princess is captured or whatever but that's pretty much all you see until you beat it.
