I prefer Stephanie to Shane as an on-screen character so I'd rather see Stephanie than Shane so if I have to see Shane, I still want to at least see Stephanie so I guess we disagree there.

Linda would have been overkill, but she re-sided with Vince so in the end she did. It was Vince and Linda leading WWF vs Shane and Stephanie running Alliance. ECW was basically dead after a month because they lost the right to call it ECW anyway. So it was all The Alliance by September.
