It really does just kinda depend on where you're from, the north has never really prospered under the tories in my life time. Not that labour did much either but money was a lot better and easier to access and the high streets weren't as desolate (I know most of that is due to the online shopping boom)

That was my point early on, Labour had the red wall for 30 plus years including all the ex coal mine towns yet they never improved anything

Now most northern towns are crumbling and haven't received any support. Warrington is doing pretty well tbf, we have been mostly renovated and have a tonne of business parks and it's a pretty thriving town, but venture outside of warrington to anywhere neighbouring and its kind a like a bomb has hit it

well the budgets are going to be hit - until we get out of this dip from brexit

Funnily enough Poyser the town I'm from had that problem yet once they switched to tories things had started to improve over the years, granted with covid it likely undone a lot of things so likely back to square one.

we are going to have to climb out the hole - and wait until we are in the green again, with all these bs Brexit 'payments' or 'fines' for leaving

In terms of your point flash, I'm not really read up enough to know what is even within their power whilst they hold the seats but aren't in power at a govornment level

i mean - before we officially left the Union - we were in a floating green state

Fair enough Poyser, it was just a observation point of view from a fellow northerner. And yea it gone be rocky with all the carry on form brexit
