If by half, Buffy, you mean cut the period in half, I'd agree. I find 1996-1998 to be quite overrated, but I can watch most of 1999-2001 and be thoroughly entertained by the whole ride.

I find everything not containing HBK and Bret Hart and Steve Austin in the WWF in 1997 to be terribly not good. WCW was great in 1997, though.
