You should at least take the time to watch it through once. It's a greatly and heavily detailed historical classic.

Gods and Generals is supposed to be another good one.

Yeah Gettysburg is like four and a half hours.

I think if you're gonna watch Gettysburg, there's only two scenes that are arguably the highlight of the entire thing: Little Round Top and Pickett's Charge.

With movies about the war I am skeptical. I feel like they would paint things in a certain light.

TBF, I think Gettysburg does a pretty fantastic job of painting each side's (infantry) perspective. Considering it was funded by Georgian Ted Turner after all.
