So in my TEW game, Dusty Rhodes died in 1988. And now, Dustin Rhodes has just debuted.

I'm pondering whether or not to sign him myself, or sign him to JCP.

Sounds like he'd be a main eventer in that timeline

The circumstances are very interesting. Dusty dying months before his son debuts. That would obviously make Dustin's rookie year a huge deal.

So I'm gonna sign him on a PPA deal, just to ensure he gets off to a good start. After that, if JCP comes after him I'll let them have him.

Oooooh. He'll be an excellent addition to "The Royal Family" with Lawler, Gordy and The Midnight Express.

And didn't Dustin win rookie of the year from the Observer when he debuted? I think he'd be fightin' Sting and Ric Flair more in the early 90s if turned out this way

Yes he did. And I'm sure he would. It's fucked up but with Dusty out of the picture, that's one less main eventer taking up his spot.

And given Dusty died prematurely in this situation, a feelgood Dustin story would be highly coveted. Imagine him winning the World Title from Flair and paying tribute to Dusty. That shit woulda sold like fuck.

WWE's New Generation attempt could have went a lot differently. Man, thinkin' about this is very fascinatin'

What would be a best case result for the new generation?

I feel like they put their best foot forward at least, pushing Shawn and Bret. Feels like they were just behind the times with pushing edgier gimmicks.

Maybe if they had spark like Dustin after that in a rival company. They would have had to push Shawn even earlier but I think more importantly they would have seen the realism of real wrestler gettin' from a wrestlin' Family that even back then people treated like royalty... we would haven't been pushed with tons of random ass and job based gimmicks that clearly didn't work. The Monday Night Wars could has started earlier or the wars could have been based entirely differently

Then again even with this people may have just treated WCW/NWA as that wrasslin' from the south before Hogan stuff but it's interestin' to think about
