Not always. Most of the time if they are still in NASCAR they would. Like I know Johnson could take part, but from my understanding he isn't.

But most of the time, they all do take part in it.

cool - but you have to actually be eligible to take part. so some of the main field are not present

Yeah, well this year a lot of people are, and since it seems they aren't doing qualifying it will be that way next year also. Since normally it's pole winners plus a few other little small things like pass winners of the race or past champions and stuff. But like this year it's like anyone who won in 2020, anyone who won a stage in 2020, past winners of the clash and past champions who was full time in 2020, plus I think like anyone who did get a pole before they stopped doing it last year.
