It’s overrated for good reason though, not by a niche but by filmmakers because regardless of if the movie is boring, it did revolutionize film making with camera pans and etc

I took a history of cinema class in college for an elective and yeah we watched Citizen Kane and a bunch of others that were more technically revolutionary than anything else. Some were boring as shit but I liked most all of them

People talk about songs getting billions of views today, but that’s only the big hits in pop or trap rap, everything else hardly draws, whereas back in the day you’d have a song drawing millions of millions while selling records
