General Chit-Chat Thread: A New Beginning

My dad got mad at me one year because I couldn’t go see him for Thanksgiving because I can’t take time off that week working in retail when he’s known that lol

I think I'm just gonna make a basic green bean casserole bc my brother and his wife don't like vegetables so they'll just so ham, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese most likely

I get sick good PTO this job, I'm wfh Tuesday, and off wedesday-friday

Christmas is Thursday and they don't bat an eye that I take off Wednesday and Friday too

I'm only seeing family Wednesday night and Thursday lunch, the rest is me time

Ever since the pandemic my work stays closed on thanksgiving

We're oddly off the day after thanksgiving but only Christmas day, not Christmas Eve

It doesn't really affect me bc of my PTO situation but that's weird af for the store employees

you're off Friday because nobody gon show up to work as it's a Friday after an off thursday and you off weekends. Christmas Eve is before the holiday so you're working all week beforehand.

I have theories on why Christmas Eve is beneficial but black Friday would also be very beneficial by those same metrics so idk

no it is more because everyone is gonna call out to get a 4 day weekend. Hence the closure.
