Like, if you could just gain VC at a good rate by simply playing the game, that would pretty much make all the "free" rewards useless, because you could simply put that VC you earned towards things that would be fulfilling for you with your player. But if they let you gain the VC at a non-insulting rate then it's gonna stop people from spending real money on the VC, or season pass level skips, or any of the other several things you can (and almost have to) spend money on in the game

MLB has the best structure, you can realistically earn the amount of in game currency in about like 2-3 hours of grinding as you would putting $50 in the game
