It was bull riding. This literally wasn’t his first rodeo, but it is his first major injury from one.

That would’ve been more amusing, but when I say “sport”, I doubt even the most rural people think of bull riding.

This is true. A lot of things are classed as Sports that don't actually seem like Sports. I'm not saying this is one of them but some may think that.
