easy for us to know the truth, but we have to hear out "both sides" or we're biased so we have to entertain the liars too

Fake news and also just straight up denial and delusion. I had a friend I got into a disagreement with because they weren't willing to concede that Jimmy Kimmel got suspended due to pressure from the federal government even though no one in the government was even trying to hide that that was the case I was simply stating my opposition to government censorship, never even explicitly mentioned Trump or try to frame it as a him issue (even though it is). Man could not bring himself to admit what was really happening. Shit was honestly sad as hell.

It's one thing to get duped or have blind spots, because I think that's unavoidable as a human, but to refuse to engage with reality when it's right in front of you in no uncertain terms is wild.
