Auto sports yes there's a team aspect but the team all feels like the coaching staff and the driver is the player. So a substitute player feels weird and a kind of advantageous.

You have to really follow it to understand it. Cause its definitely not really an advantage because it adds time to pit stops which means you will have to lose a lot of spots, and work your way back to the front. Daytona last night just happens to be a track that is easy to get to the front with the draft. Between all 3 top series and the many times a driver had to get out so someone else can finish, it's only happened 5 times. 3 of those times before the 80s. 5 times out of the amount of races, definitely shows its not much of an advantage.
