TLDR: Vince dies in a car crash after Survivor Series, leaving the company in Linda's hands, while WCW just lost Ric Flair, and the AWA and USWA are starting to lurk and try and pull ahead of the pack.

Yeah imagine AWA lucking into Randy Savage, Hennig staying, and then Rude signing in 1990. USWA is a merger between Memphis, World Class, and Mid-South, so think Lawler, Von Erichs, and the gaijin AJPW guys there.
