when not lazily implemented which has been creeping in.

Chrono Cross had a really good NG+ with alternate endings, the really early endings you usually couldn't even do on your first NG+ play bc you still weren't strong enough

That's why I like most of the RE games.

Metal Gear Solid 1 did that too. depending on which ending you got you received either Unlimited Ammo or Stealth Camo.

If the story is actually good, I don't mind being forced to win, I feel like you have to do some kind of career mode with basic/no stories to pull off what we're saying

I more so get mad when it's like matches they make incredibly hard. Like when it's some big multi man mstch and you lose because of dumb shit where the CPU is beat.
