I honestly want a story mode like the old days, where the story changes based on if you win or lose.

I think there are still No Mercy paths that i never got.

Fight forever had the path system I think yeah, like I know to unlock one story you had to lose another first but I never got too far in it

Like the last few years of WWE games just being a straight up story where you either have to win or is forced to lose kinda blows

Most are like that from what I remember tbh, very few have actual paths unless I'm forgetting

HCTP you could just continue if you lost unless it was an important match but it was then just like oh well you lose that feud, you move onto another angle and have to wait longer for a title one

SVR 06 I think had some you could lose but most you had to win or restart, it had serpate paths but it was dependent on if you picked a character involved in certain story paths, they would just have you play an alternate

Yeah that's one thing about aew ff I liked.

Back on some of the WWE games id lose on purpose just to get something new and different or if I got bored having one title I'd drop it to someone I liked

If the story is actually good, I don't mind being forced to win, I feel like you have to do some kind of career mode with basic/no stories to pull off what we're saying

What I really hate are the matches or battles in other games you're meant to lose so no matter how good you do, you just prolong the defeat lol then you realize it was for the story

can be done well in RPGs but often ya frustrating lol
