I think it wouldn't be so bad, let's just make up numbers and say on average 10% of people have a strong positive opinion on something and another 10% have a strong negative. Whatever, they can fight it out, but people the other 80% somehow get sucked onto a side and I'm constantly asking myself why someone cares so strongly about like a movie or music that doesn't affect them otherwise lol they just gotta join in on the discourse

this is a commonly cited reason for the tension and dissatisfisfaction that a lot of people feel, which is that we're in a time where you "have" to have an opinion on everything, regardless of if it matters or if you know anything about it. Which is a sub level of the larger issue of we were never supposed to have so much information constantly being beamed at us.

It all started when the first white person got mad that a minority in America said they were treated bad so the reply was "yeah well what about the starving kids on Africa, you don't care about them?"

You still see the exact quote about starving African children anytime someone says they care about a cause that makes other people mad or uncomfortable

i sponsored a kid in africa for 2 months, i did my part

95% sure it was a scam btw.

And what have you done to help bring down the North Korean regime and help stop their crimes against their citizens?

in 2006 i lived in an apartment with 3 guys and we had a friend going to bible college and on their spring break they closed the campus and he asked to sleep on our couch for the time and so we let him and i went to church with him on the sundays he was there so he didn't have to go alone.

they talked about sponsoring a child in africa when i went and i thought it sounded cool so i signed up. first month i got a letter and a picture of this kid with his hobbies and all this and it said he was 2 years old.

next month i got another letter and photo of the same kid and it said he was 5 years old.

I’ll watch a movie if it gets bad reviews if it’s one I really want to see. I still saw that Honey Don’t movie despite it having bad reviews and I thought it wasn’t great but not as bad as I saw some people saying it was
