HBO Max was when they let you subscribe without a cable package

That was only if you subscribed to HBO through cable, you could watch on the go

oh yeah that,s right, HBO NOW was the streamer

if you had hbo cable you could get go for free but they had HBO now which was just a standalone that i had

Yeah I remember that part bc before it was annoying that you couldn't get it separate if you didn't have cable when Game of Thrones and shit was big

No wonder it's getting more complicated with how batshit the streaming market was... or probably still is

In college we just had to watch in whoever's room who's parents had an HBO subscription

and they were basically the same price.

so if you had cable at all it was easier to just get the channel because you got the live channel for stuff like game of thrones. at that time i don't think you could watch it live.
