I will say it's not the type of game I would have normally been as onto, I'm a bit over that middle age fantasy stuff but it kind of reawakened the interest. The turn based combat and an actual semblance of every minor decision affecting the story for a different world each playthrough were the best parts

The best description is it's simply the best modern age video game adaptation of a D&D campaign and finally incorporates some aspects that still make the tabletop version superior

I'll still never get over how my first playthrough I killed one of the most important and entertaining recruitable characters bc I thought they were just an enemy and then I continued on with the game lol

I love it when games do that... unless it softlocks you

Yeah the first playthrough blind was by far my wildest, I see now how minor those changes can make in the grand scheme of things but they felt so major in the general continuity

Or even worse... if it's like old Point & Click adventures where you do something and then on the final stretch of the game you realize you can trash the save, because of that one thing (that seemed to be correct to do or at least without any ramifications) you did hours and hours ago.

Like it's an illusion but it makes the world feel so immersive, Red Dead 2 did that fairly well too for a mostly linear game unless you purposely tried to break it by not acting like Arthur lol

Still with that one you were locked into a specific character and drawn to act how you thought he should, with BG it's a completely created one
