Yea... I think everyone would've. Like I said, I can't shake the feeling they fucked the story up way back and then started scrambling. Also didn't help, like I said back then, that they started with the whole angle on 11 and basically had nowhere else to go than down a notch.

I also would never have wasted OC that early either, and if you were going to write him off, I think in hindsight, Mox injuring him so he CANT challenge him, since he had his number before, would have been dope

that isa very fair point about timing. I dont hate the angle as much as others. but im still like perplexed why they didnt do a channel take over, or escalate further. and maybe what u say has a lot of merit, in which they started WAY too heavy

Yea, but as we know there was that rumor floating around maybe a month prior or so that they see Darby as the World Champion soon backstage, so

and then u have your other starts wrapping up their other stories and arcs, which has been fantastic, but I understand why people are saying its overshadowing a main event that isnt hitting as much as those feuds

yeah, that rumor was also more of a "we have heard darby is in for a world title push" which, tbf, never explicitly said he was winning

Of course not, but the way they presented him afterwards, until the way they wrote him off by the hands of the Death Riders, it fits way too perfectly for not being true.

agreed. I would just argue that Darby is also always that dramatic and pumped. But yes, it sure seemed like he would be back
