06 and HCTP are my top 2 bc even with HCTP being more repetitive bc it doesn't have as many modes, I managed to have so much forever with it still. 07 might be 3rd place, those are easily my top 3 most played wrestling games ever if I had to guess tho

I liked Smackdown shut your mouth the most out of the older games

That’s the game that basically introduced me to wrestling though so I’m biased. I think I played that game before I started watching.

I played SD 1 and 2 a ton on my PS1, then I got a GameCube and was on day of reckoning 1 and 2 for awhile and then I got my PS2 and got SVR 06 and 07. Then after that I went back and bought used copies of all the rest lol

But SYM is a top tier one for me too, no disagreement there. The reversal system was annoying compared to what I got used to from HCTP and later but funny enough it's more similar to what the current games do

I went back and bought copies of SD 1 and 2 and played them again in high school lol the only PS1 wrestling game I still had at that time somehow was WWF attitude which I remember I also got late even tho I was little bc it was after I'd already played the SmackDown

Games are very similar, not really worth playing the first one f you have the second bc it's just a better version and only like 3 or so talents were removed in between

I assume you already know this but if not that's actually bc it was the SmackDown theme song at the time and I think all the games of that era opened with whatever the SmackDown theme was until it bc Vs Raw and it would alternate which you got on startup

Also there was a lot of very specific time period things in the game. Like Bubba Ray and Spike were the Dudley Boyz while D Von was Reverend D Von. Kevin Nash was in the game. Billy and Chuck were in the game. Shawn Michaels was part of the nWo. You had Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Fuckin weird lmao

The SVR 06 one was funny I remember bc it was just the straight up SmackDown intro video from when it was released which had all new people that didn't make the game on it lol

yeah that's why I like HCTP too, it had a lot of the WCW guys that came late that didn't last very long on it like Goldberg and Steiner too
