Are you? I’m saying they are actually Christians who accept their kids being gay, and if a friend says some hateful fucking shit about their kid, they won’t be their friend anymore or forgive them, because you don’t fuck with someone’s kid.
Forgiving someone does not make one a terrible person, spare me that nonsense.

Okay let's be honest, forgiving people for their wrongdoings is just a load of horseshit tbh.

Like at no point should you forgive someone for killing another in cold blood. Or for forgiving rapists for violating women violently. Or the Insurance CEO who denied coverage to hundreds of thousands of sick people...

Some people never deserve forgiveness, and trying to stand on some moral high ground like Christians try to do with their "We forgive those who pray to Jesus" is a level of delusion that is astounding.

But that might just be the atheist in me speaking.

That's your opinion, though ultimately how an individual feels is up to them, no one can tell you how to feel.

I'll even go so far as to say forgiving someone for wanting violence or persecution done unto a member of your own family isn't good. It's bad in fact, because it's a toleration of hate, and it shows that you don't have a spine to stand up for your family.

Tolerance of Intolerance means you have no ground to stand on.

Bruh.

Bruh…. I. I didn’t say that.

I said. Now keep up with me now because I know you have a hard time understanding this.

Let me set an example for you.

You have this nice, Christian family. Dad has his friend over to say watch football on Monday Night. Now, say that friend says something hurt about the dad’s son or daughter, some real hateful shit. That dad isn’t going to necessarily forgive that friend just because he’s a Christian. No where in any of this am I saying you’re a terrible person to forgive someone, you Simple Minded Hillbilly.

And additionally, if I was a gay man (I'm bi), and one of my parent's friends openly said I shouldn't exist, I'm evil, and I should be converted back into being straight, and then both my parents go to me and tells me that while they were upset at their friend, they're gonna forgive them "Because it's the Christian thing to do", you know what that tells me?

My parents care more about their friend than me, their own son.
