we actually have this weird semi policy that if you don't call in 3 hours ahead of your shift it can be considered a no call no show which I think is BS.

So if I work at 7am, I'm supposed to call my boss at before 4am to let them know I wont be in.

Thankfully I always work the 3pm shift so I have to do it before noon but it's still dumb.

I get it, we work alone so they need to find someone to cover and the earlier you call the more time they have but life happens.

Only time I really seen it contested was this girl was supposed to come in for housekeeping at 11pm and she called the front desk and told me she was sick at 10:45. 15 minutes before she was supposed to be there.
