General Chit-Chat Thread: A New Beginning

Been really into researching the late prehistory era, basically right before any recorded stuff

It seems to still be highly debated when the first humans made it over to North America, they've pinpointed about a 2K year range. But once they came over they spread fast, like all the way deep into South America so to me that points to an earlier initial migration

Also they definitely hunted horses to extinction in North America before Europeans came over, that's crazy

I bet there's some creepy ass shit at the bottom of them waters

Possibly, I think undiscovered fish are most likely than any human archaeology stuff tho

I think there's still hella stuff to be uncovered in deserts tho. They were a lot more hospitable in early human history before records but most migrated out as the climate changed. I think there's still more organized civilizations older than we've discovered

That's one of the reasons I loved the movie Cloverfield so much.

Like there's evidence of trade between civilizations in Africa that we know next to nothing about like 300k years ago, that's like 250k older than most society type discoveries

they didn't really explain it in the movie but basically the monster was sleeping at the bottom of the ocean for hundreds of years and got woke up by use drilling for oil.

I was about to say, I watched the movie and enjoyed it but had no idea how it related to the subject lol

yeah the movie gives 0 input. you just see what the camera sees

We're still discovering new species of ocean life regularly they're just fairly boring

Same with insects and stuff

which is kinda cool but at the same time there's quite a bit of lore most don't know

More records of extinct species with direct timelines that point to it happening when humans discovered them too sadly
