I do agree we hear a lot less than we did a few years ago specifically before WWE got good again and AEW existed. But if you look at a lot of the main ones business, they're drawing. So I mean it's just an us problem it seems to me. Yeah some struggle and die out but most still seem to be doing stronger, you just have to seek them out bc the discourse is dominated WWE and AEW (and specifically why you think one of them sucks)

My real worry is still with Japan rn, they've never recovered from the pandemic at all but it still seems like incremental improvements, so not hopeless

I feel like it's more of people wanting to seek them out over actually doing it. When the discourse a few years ago was WWE/TNA/ROH, nobody even bothered with the indies unless you were diehard PWG, and back then wrestling was a lot harder to find online.
