All the different answers I always see to this riddle is mind blowing.

A man steals a $100 bill from a store’s register. Then the buys $70 worth of goods at that store using the $100 bill, and he gets $30 change. How much money did the store lose?

Exactly. Dude got away with 70 dollars in goods and 30 in change. The original 100 was returned. It would be the same as if he just stole those goods and 30 bucks from the register.
