I don't really care for it as much with milk or cream, sauce doesn't get thick enough. But I use cream of mushroom as a base for a lot of things too

I'd use cream and just stir cream cheese or just more shredded cheese in it. Or use sauce thickener... I don't know if that is a thing over there

Yeah it exists but I've never really used it. More cheese would probably be my go to, not big on cream cheese either lol
