Yeah that sort of is a result of a populace that isn't content on slow gains but wants immediate results in a world that has been ever-growingly tied together economically since the 1970s. Things that are happening in one minor region now have the potential to cause worldwide problems, and nothing is more proof of that than the Middle East.
