But I think the overall failure of left-leaning parties worldwide to largely stem inflation and the terrible effects of the 2008 crash have caused society at large to start flying unhesitatingly towards conservatism.

Despite Inflation being legit caused by things which are beyond what the Left leaning parties can do. Like a mix of the Climate Crisis, gas market, price gouging, and the wars in Ukraine/Middle East. Many were actually decently successful in mitigating it all things considered. Canada and the US got it down to near normal rates well, but the damage was done.

Yeah that sort of is a result of a populace that isn't content on slow gains but wants immediate results in a world that has been ever-growingly tied together economically since the 1970s. Things that are happening in one minor region now have the potential to cause worldwide problems, and nothing is more proof of that than the Middle East.
