Though ALSO didn't help that most of their biggest stars did sign with AEW, Matt Taven, while in hindsight was the "better choice" to be world champ in that Ladder match given what we learned about the Villain, was not someone to inject enough life into the brand.

It's basically been revealed now that Sinclair had no intention of restarting it when they said, that was just so they could get more money for it as it wasn't completely dead. WWE or AEW would have bought it, no other options

Really shitty bc the only reason they tried to offload it is bc it wasn't making money anymore bc they weren't having full crowds bc they were being safer than anyone else
