That was always the argument from the people on denial tho, they thought if WWE were doing any of those things it means they thought the other company was a threat and that's just not true. But it was never about seeing them as a threat lol

For sure... even when we talk Monday Night Wars, I'm pretty sure the story was always that Vince didn't see WCW as competition or a threat until like the very last moment that was the weeks after the NWO formed... or something like that

I'm pretty sure all of that got worse and worse over the decades, since he kinda always came out the winner in the 80s and 90s

He says he was on the phone with Vince where Vince was bitching about them overpaying for the talent and Meltzer told him it was the same thing Vince did in the 80s but he kept arguing it was different. Apparently Vince says something about it on the doc too
