a lot of wrestlers used to play it back in the day, i remember cody rhodes and stephen amell having a clan for it.

at the beginning building things only takes a few seconds/minutes but as you progress everything takes longer to build so like when you get to town hall 10 you can wait days

it's one of those type of games. of course you spend gems to unlock stuff instantly but they are rare unless you purchase them with real money.

you can make clans and have clan wars

but you have to have quite a few ppl for wars.

it's a slow build. my recommendation is to build and upgrade everything you can before moving up a town hall level

basically whenever you upgrade your town hall to the next level that unlocks new upgrades and buildings. it also makes your opponents that attack and that you attack harder. so its usually the last thing you should do.

something they added since last i played that i really like is the ability to copy layouts.

they have sites with the best village layouts and a lot of them if you visit it on your phone they have a link you can click that will auto open the game and change your layout to it.
