The Bitch thing works for Okada because of the way he says it. Most of the bitch use is just people yelling it at each other. Okada just says it so nonchalantly that it works.

I like when Okada does the bitch for the record, especially because it's just a bit he does. I'm talking about someone earnestly cutting a fiery promo and then hitting the pause, and then dropping the bitch like I'm supposed to lose my mind or something

Also a good point, yea... timing and delivery is as important to make it work

Cena's STFU is a great example. Just placing the arms in front of the face but visibly with no torque whatsoever.
I swear I recall at one point commentary trying to put it over saying how he has such big firearms that it is more painful for the sides of the face that the forearms are pressing against the opponents head. It was laughable but credit tj then for trying. That being said.. that shit worked. Still remember when he debuted it on Raw back in a submission match. I wanna say against Chris Masters but could be wrong.

I mean I respect the explanation, it does look more like a vise-type move, rather than a cranking back sorta crossface situation when he does it.

aside from extreme tribalism lol. The idea that a wrestler is surprised when someone kicks out of a move THAT NEVER WINS A MATCH. Like dude you didn't hit your finisher don't act surprised.

I recall hearing that. It could have been commentary or just fan theory. But it does work. I wanna assume that JR said it because it makes sense that he would find a workaround to get the move over.

But tbh Troop I'm right with you and it was definitely NXT Adam Cole that fried me the most when it came to that shit. Like I was saying earlier, he never fucking won with the Panama Sunrise, which is already often a convoluted set-up, but then when the opponent would kick out (as they always did) he'd have to do his disbelief face for 20 seconds

Like the match, the story, the involved talent... when it fits, then surprised faces/reactions are great to season the situation
