According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, early indications are that AEW Double or Nothing did the most PPV buys in company history despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Meltzer noted the following regarding the estimated numbers:

"Streaming numbers from B/R Live in the U.S. and FITE for international markets both ended up more than 10 percent up from the 2/29 Revolution show and may end up closer to 15 percent up, which was tracking to be the second highest number in company history, behind only the first Double or Nothing show, at about 100,000 to 110,000 buys."

Meltzer added that if numbers for cable PPV buys hold up, this year's DON could slightly surpass what last year's DON did.

Meltzer speculated that a possible reason for the strong numbers was more people had to buy the PPV since they couldn't watch in large groups. Also, there were fans that bought the PPV that had originally planned to attend the show live although some may have purchased the PPV regardless.

Cody Rhodes mentioned during his promo on AEW Dynamite that DON's PPV buys had exceeded expectations. Tony Khan recently touted that DON was a "huge success" on Twitter.

Great news if so. They did an excellent job.

I'll post this in here, rather than in tonight's AEW live thread.

Watched the Omega + Page vs Sabian + Havoc match just before I go to sleep.

I've stuck with AEW for a few months now. I'm still enjoying it. But there are a few things that irritate me.

1. They need to stop doing the same moves. At least 3 different people have used the Cutter/Diamond Cutter. That's also 2 reverse hurricanranas in a few weeks now after the Page and Omega vs Havoc and Sabian match. That move should be used every so often. And almost definitely not on the ring apron. MJF should have never agreed to take that spot at Double or Nothing. Regardless of how much he trusted Jungle Boy.

2. There's times in matches where certain moves/spots should have ended the match. An example being the aforementioned tag match. The spot where the ref ejected Penelope Ford would have been fine to gain the upper hand for Havoc and Sabian. But not when Havoc attacks Omega with a wrench. That is a finish to a match you book for the heels. Outside of kayfabe if you get hit by a wrench, then you're going to be down for more than 3 seconds. It's booking a bit reminiscent of ECW.

3. A lot of brawling outside of the ring. And sometimes the rules don't even matter.

4. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but it doesn't sit with me for some reason. AEW have a great tag division. But does almost EVERYBODY on the men's roster have to be in a tag team, faction or group? I'm getting used to the teams now. But there are WAY too many. Of all the talent I've seen on screen since I've been watching; There's only two people who aren't in some form of team.
Jon Moxley and Darby Allin.

I'm still going to continue to watch but the first point really annoys me the most.

I'm curious if people will say anything about these guys being a "sloppy show" as Taz put it.
