It was the second one, but it's the best one.
I remember being heavily into one of the first ones that had it but I think it was 06. The gm mode was definitely broken but still fun

I used to run two controllers and just play as RAW, do nothing with SmackDown period, and just ride the gravy train to that trophy for the unlocks. :heston

Bioshock Infinite.

I wish I could forget it all so I could go back and play it again.

Silent Hill & Resident Evil games. I basically nearly shit my pants playing those. I'd probably say Silent Hill had the much better atmosphere & ambiance. The fog, the weird ass monsters, the sounds and music. Those guys are amazing at what they do.

Silent Hill 2 is probably one of the best games I've ever played, and I was fully immersed the whole way through.

I think Resident Evil 7 is surprisingly the scariest one. Something about the first person view, I had to pause a few times because my heart was beating with headphones on. I couldn't play VR.

Also, I need to give a shout out to Outlast as well. The fact you have to hide and not fight back was just too much for me, I'm so used to being able to fight back in games. I literally took a years break from finishing the game because it fucked me up that bad.

Oh, my God. Detroit: Become Human. It is hands-down my FAVORITE game, and I love the storyline along with making choices that can affect the entire gameplay. Also, one of my favorite actors from Grey's voices one of the characters so it was a must-play for me. I finished it in, like, a span of two days.

I know it's an unpopular take but that was my favourite Bioshock. I genuinely preferred the Columbia setting over Rapture. The first time you open the gates and that music plays I was fully immersed.

I think after Metal Gear Solid 2 changed my life (I had originally not played 1) - when Snake Easter was released I found myself obsessed with it to the point that I was doing homework at lunchtime - to maximise all my hours at home to play it.

Fallout New Vegas - got it at the beginning of uni exams and it is probably the reason I didn't become a computer programmer as I failed Scientific Maths because of it lol.

FO4 too, and I played much more, but NV absolutely engaged me when I played it.

Also the Danganronpa series. And Life is Strange, while often corny, ultimately broke me for both the original and beyond the storm. Playing LiS 2 now.

@Ace Dalton Detroit: Become Human is great, highly recommend it. Although it isn't really a 'game', important to remember that. As long as you love those type of games, you're set. I loved Heavy Rain, and it was basically that but much better written and acted overall. I also think the choices are lot more impactful. I thought the characters were far more fleshed out. Quantic Dream are really the best when it comes to delivering these type of experiences, I honestly enjoy it more than most films and TV Shows.
