I think it's some interesting story progression. Not saying to have him go for the Heavy or even IC, but becoming a contender for the NEVER belt doesn't even involve him getting THAT many wins or anything. I think it'd be feasible for him to get a little momentum, then he can go back to jobbing afterwards if that's where they want to go.
- Delirious opened the show and announced that ROH & NJPW would be doing shows together in Japan in 2016. :woohoo:
- The undercard tag team fest was rock solid, as well as Elgan vs YOSHI-HASHI.
- Tenryu came out during intermission and started arguing with Gedo about wanting his retirement match, Gedo brought up Okada's name. Okada came out and accepted! 11/15, it's on!
- reDRagon vs The Young Bucks was great! These guys always deliver. ****
But, they keep playing hot potatoes with the IWGP Jr. tag titles.
So now, whenever title changes hands, it doesn't feel important. The Jr. tag division needs to be shaken up a bit.
Having all these teams doing same matches over and over again is weak and lazy booking.
Personally, I wouldn't mind Liger/TM IV, Jay White/Finlay, Komatsu/Tanaka added to the mix.
Also, LOL'd so hard at this... Priceless!
- KUSHIDA vs Ricochet was great and fun to watch! ****¼
Despite this being a great, enjoyable match, it kinda lacked that big fight feel to it.
For instance, their 2014 BOSJ match had a better crowd and the big fight vibe.
Anyways, the score 'tween the two is now 1-1. A rubber match is definitely going down! Can't wait!
- AJ Styles, Machine Gun & Doc vs Okada & The Kingdom was good, thanks to AJ and Okada being there. ***
LOL, I loved this...
Please, no more Kingdom vs Bullet Club! Nobody cares about this feud.
But, they're doing it because someone obviously loves having Maria there.
Who wouldn't, eh? K, moving on.
- Tanahashi vs Nakamura was amazing, excellent, and a highly enjoyable main event! *****
Awesome conclusion to the finals!
Wow, I thought Nakamura was winning this whole thing.
I have no problem with Ace Tana winning and facing Okada at WK10, 'cause they'll be looking to pass the torch and solidify Okada as the top guy...
But, if the plan wasn't for Nakamura to win G1, why have him compete through the rest of the tourney after suffering an injury early on? That's just strange to me.

That match won't be in New Japan. It's in Tenryu's own project and won't be likely to make tape.
Anyways. Rewatched this and I stand by that Dragon Gate blew this show out of the water. They are the hungrier brand and it's pretty obvious, including Tanahashi supposedly shooting on them in his win promo.

Nakamura vs. Tanahashi ****1/4. Great match but it doesn't touch their G1 24 match, TNB 2014 and especially Invasion Attack, which is the ultimate match of the rivalry. Tanahashi was almost perfect once again, Nakamura had his off moments which is becoming his "story". His sloppiness is becoming quite an issue.
Nakamura vs. Tanahashi 2014/15 ranking:
1. Invasion Attack
2. The New Beginning
3. G1 24
4. G1 25
5. Wrestle Kingdom 8
