FIRST MATCH | 1/60.
Jeremy Best
[c] vs. Cyrus Truth.
Cage Match. FWA World Championship.
Match Writer: Dubb.

Cyrus Truth earned an opportunity at Jeremy Best and the FWA World Championship by overcoming four other competitors - namely Trixie Bordeaux, Gabrielle, Johnny Johnson, and Jay Kenny - back on Fallout 037. Cyrus is of course no stranger to the richest prize in the game, holding it on three separate occasions, but the most recent such occasion was back in 2019, when Saint Sully ended Truth’s third reign just shy of a year. Truth came up short twice last year in his efforts to pry the belt away from Chris Peacock, and will hope to have better luck against recently-crowned champion Jeremy Best. Best won that championship back at Winter Wasteland, defeating Alyster Black to begin his first reign. Since then, ‘the Exile’ and ‘Your New Best F(r)iend’ have been embroiled in a war of words before being forced to team with one another - along with Sir Stache and Mejor Amigo - in an eight-person contest last week on Fallout 039. After it was discovered Jeremy's attempts to befriend Cyrus included Sir Stache paying off Bobby Joel and Vengador to attack him at Fight Night, Cyrus Truth cashed in on his own stroke by making the title match at Carnal Contendership a Cage Match. Will Truth embark on his elusive fourth reign with the world title, or will the FWA continue to stand for Friendship Wrestling Alliance?

MOD NOTE: The loser of this match may choose to also enter their promo into the Carnal Contendership match in the main event. This is not the case for the F1 final due to grading commitments.

SECOND MATCH | 1/60.
Chris Peacock
vs. Michelle von Horrowitz..
Singles Match. F1 Climaxxx 2024 Final. FWA North American Championship.
Match Writer: SupineSnake.

2024’s incarnation of the F1 Climaxxx tournament comes to a close at the Carnal Contendership, with a first time ever meeting between Michelle von Horrowitz and Chris Peacock. Dreamer comes into this final as the reigning F1 winner, having triumphed over Cyrus Truth - albeit by disqualification - in last year's final. She will remember, though, that Peacock withdrew from the tournament before his semi final match in order to focus on his Golden Opportunity cash-in, which was successful and led to a lengthy reign with the world title. This match, though, is all about the FWA North American Championship, which is on the line in the tournament and is the belt both need in order to become the fifth Grand Slam Champion in the promotion's history. The two know each other very well, with MvH failing in her challenge of Peacock at last year's Grand March, her prize for having won 2023’s F1. The two have also frequently clashed over the FWA World Tag Team Championships as part of FTN and the Connection, battles which Peacock and his partner Alyster Black invariably triumphed in.

THIRD MATCH | MAIN EVENT | 1/∞.
The 2024 Carnal Contendership Match.
30-Person Battle Royale. FWA World Championship #1 Contendership.
Match Writer: Man.

Annually (other than in 2018 and 2020) since 2008, the Carnal Contendership has seen thirty (or more) FWA competitors duke it out in order to get a spot on the grandest stage of them all: the main event of Back in Business, in order to challenge for the FWA World Championship. Twelve people have won this match over the years, with Cyrus Truth and WOLF having done so on two separate occasions, and in 2024 the entire FWA roster will have the opportunity to add their name to this illustrious list. The field will aim to join hall-of-famers Chris Kennedy, WOLF, and Ryan Rondo, as well as more modern names such as Cyrus Truth, Nova Diamond, Michelle von Horrowitz, and Danny Toner, as one of the select few that can boast a Carnal Contendership win on their resumé.

MOD NOTE: Anyone who wishes to enter a surprise promo should do so by PMing myself, Man, and Dubb, who will act as the preliminary graders for this match. Please consult the rules thread for more information on how multi-person matches like this are graded.

MOD NOTE: After discussion of this in the staff room, we’ve decided that we are going to publish grades for this show (in this thread), and will do so for all shows going forward. We are going to publish the average grade for each promo. Please note that a higher average grade does not necessarily mean the win. The grading rubric is used to decide a winner for each individual grader, but the winner of the match (usually) is the person who has won with the most graders.

The process is more complicated than this for multi-person matches (four promos or more). As per our rules post, there are three initial graders for matches like this, who grade all the promos in the match. If they choose the same winner, that person wins the match. If there is not a consensus on the best promo, two more judges are asked to grade the top three promos in the match. Then, a points system is used to rank this top three. With all five graders, the three characters are awarded either 1, 2, or 3 points depending on where they come in each grader’s rankings. The person with the lowest overall score wins the match. In this scenario, the top three having five graders versus the rest of the promos having only three can often lead to the grade averages being skewed in one direction or the other for the top three promos.

We also intend to post who graded each match when we post the grades.

We have decided to do this in an effort to increase openness given some of the discussions earlier in the year. We are looking at other ways to do that alongside this. A more detailed breakdown of your grade is available on request to a mod, as it always has been.
