So Friday isn't the night of wrestling that Monday was in the 90's or in the early 2010's. Maybe TNA set their sights a little too far and high by going back to Monday against Raw. Smackdown is a much weaker show now. Could they reasonably try their hand head to head with a live show vs. Smackdown?

If all the TNA fans watched TNA on a Friday, they would still lose to Smackdown. The reason TNA never beat Raw, was because not many people know about it. They need word of mouth. That's it.

That's all TNA needs to really make people go WTF is to announce on the night that they just moved back to Thursdays after unsuccessfully contending on Monday Nights that they are moving to Friday nights now. By the end of the year TNA iMPACT! will have touched base on everyday of the week, yes, weekends too.

They need more than word of mouth. They need a good show. Thursday is their best bet probably, they just need to make quality television.

LOL! I didn't mean now, as in today or even next month. I only thought of it because Smackdown isn't great shakes so it would be competitive ground for TNA. I see your point though.

Definitely. There was a huge decrease in ratings moving from Thursday to Friday night with Smackdown. Highschool football games on Friday night, people going out to dinner/drinks, or the movies. :drinks_wine:

Yeah, pretty much this. Fridays wouldn't be a good idea. Just so they can compete with Smackdown? It'd be a dumb move imo.

I think a better move would be to move SD to Thursdays (move SS to tuesday nights and get rid of NXT). To move TNA to Fridays would be silly because they've spent all their time trying to get an audience on Thursdays so I wouldn't think they would just blow it all away. TNA have just changed nights anyway, so a second change would be stupid.

A Friday schedule, on the same channel TNA is on (then called TNN), killed ECW. Only a moron would move a show to Fridays. Moving to Friday has killed many other tv shows & is known in the tv industry as a "dead zone" because no one gives a shit about what is on Fridays except for shut ins. Its the first day of the weekend & unless its a sporting event, people don't watch it, tv ratings for Fridays reflect that. Networks will also put shows on Fridays that they have no intention of renewing, example: the last episodes of Arrested Development & Joss Whedon's Dollhouse.

Friday is a terrible timeslot, people are out doing things that night which is why Smackdown! gets 1.5-1.7 ratings now. If iMPACT! were to move I'd expect the ratings to go back to the .5-.6 region which is obviously not where TNA wants to be. There's no need for them to leave Thursday nights, I can't even count how many times they've moved iMPACT! and the result is always the same. Just leave it on Thursday nights at 9PM and try and actually improve the on screen product to garner higher ratings

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't SD meant to be switching back to Thurs after the change of station? ...If so, TNA lucked out cos Impact going back to Thursdays would have meant they'll still be competing head-on with WWE.

Plus, I think that most times, SD's product > RAW's product
