fightline.com said:UFC 162 just grew with the announcement of two featherweight fights. Frankie Edgar vs. Charles Oliveira and Dennis Siver vs. Cub Swanson have been confirmed by UFC officials.
Edgar is seeking his first featherweight win since losing a championship fight to Jose Aldo. Prior to that, he found success as lightweight, winning and defending the gold. This is Oliveira's third featherweight bout and he's at 2-1. He submitted Eric Wisely and Jonathan Brookins before Swanson knocked him out.
The Siver-Swanson contest could determine a future lightweight champion. Swanson has four consecutive wins, stopping three within round two. Siver took a pair of decisions over Diego Nunes and Nam Phan. He's 11-4 since joining the UFC in 2007.
UFC 162 comes from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The July 6 card is headlined with middleweight champion Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman.
For those who are unfamiliar with Frankie Edgar he is perhaps one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world. He's the former lightweight champion and quick man! It'll be interesting to see how he matches up against Charles Oliveira.
The Swanson-Siver fights seems interesting too, Dennis Siver is a wrecking machine at 145.
I'm stoked for both these fights!
