Former ROH Star Makes WWE Debut At Weekend Live Event

Former Ring Of Honor wrestler Claudio Castagnoli wrestled at the WWE live event in Tyler, Texas this weekend.

Castagnoli worked under the name "Antonio Cesaro," teaming with Michael McGillicutty. The two did the job in a tag-team match against Mason Ryan and Alex Riley.

I'm confused about "the two did the job", does that mean they lost or they won? I'm assuming it means they lost.

I can't wait for Claudio to debut and hopefully he does sometime soon.

They lost, I read results from the house show.

Riley got the pin on McGillicutty with the 'Hit The Showers'.

I was shocked when I read this to see Antonio Cesaro doing a house show, really hope he's called up soon.

They're letting FCW stars in the past few weeks gain experience from doing WWE live events.

They've had Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) & Seth Rollins. Plus now you've got Antonio Cesaro. Hopefully Damien Sandow will be next to get his chance. Then all you need is to get all 4 on the main roster soon.

Both of those tag teams are so random, it doesn't make sense for any of those teams to be together so it would have been an odd match to watch. Good that WWE have put him on the road so early in his run in FCW, normally they make them wait at least a year. Hopefully they start debuting new stars soon but it would probably be more likely that they will wait until after WM before bringing them in.

It's a good idea. Get the very talented Indy workers on Live Shows before TV so they can get used to the big arena feel. Even if House shows don't draw that many people, it's a different atmosphere.

i hate comments like this, just cause hes trying to better his life and make money he sold out, i've never heard double c say "i'm want be a indy wrestler for life", if you were 31 and had a choice between WWE money and Indy money what would you take?.

^^ Money should not be the reason you do what you love

To excel and become one of the best at what you do should be a reason though and to do that going to WWE only makes sense. Get a chance to be on T.V to be get recognition. Then you can factor in that you got to make a living and guy can make a good living doing what he loves in WWE. Makes no sense for him or any other indy guy to have the outlook of I'm gonna hold myself down just so a few indy fans won't think I'm a sell out. If you're a true fan you'll watch him no matter what company he's in.

^^ WWE is not what they used to be when it comes to in-ring action and wrasslin'

I admit WWE still have some decent matches and good promos and storylines, but for me Claudio is wasting his time, ending in the WWE Jobbing machine

Some people thought Punk was wasting his time how did that turn out? Same with Bryan and he's a world champion too. You never know how they'll turn out. And yeah they aren't what they used to be in ring wise they're better depending what time period you're comparing now to. If his WWE time fails than so be it he could always go back to the indies you don't know how many chances you're gonna get to be apart of the biggest wrestling company in the world.

Personally never understood the sell out argument. I love Indy's more than most, (that's an understatement) but If I put myself in those shows I'd take the Money and more importantly the exposure every time and the WWE is the big time whether we like it or not. Even if you fall you can go back to the Indy's for life. You have a short span for the Big time.
