RIP Nancy and Daniel Benoit, there the only people who deserve mentioning here, oh and the two kids that Benoit left behind that he had with another woman.

Shaking my head. Going way too much off topic now. I'm gonna close + clean the thread and re open it later.

Thread re opened.

Chris Benoit's achievements were scripted. He should be remembered for one thing and one thing only; a murdering, psychotic steroid using monster.

See, and I didn't say fuck or cunt or bloodied rape victim or anything :ace:

Well seriously, reading what some of you wrote, about how Benoit is a sick fuck and such, FUCK YOU guys, seriously.

Chris Benoit was one of my childhood idols. One of my favorite performers of all time. A great wrestler, with a huge history, a man who should be respected. Just let me post you haters a little video to shut your fucking mouths.

Here.

First, some questions.

Then, how do you explain these facts?

Plus - there is a Kevin Sullivan murder theory, look it up.

Just TOO many facts and police errors for the whole "crime" to be true.

If anything pisses me off, it's talking shit about Benoit. Benoit was a guy who I have admired during my late childhood, and actually one of my first "favorite" wrestlers. Besides, WHO ARE YOU to judge Benoit? WHO ARE YOU to call that man a murderer? And lastly, WHO ARE YOU to insult the man?

He may or may not killed them, but remember one thing. Most of you who talk shit about him are only some nerds spending most time on your computers doing nothing really important, while Benoit was a man who won multiple titles in wrestling (yes, I know wrestling is fake.), Benoit was a nice person according to everyone, after all, read Jericho's books and you'll see.

On the other hand, I have no right to judge you. I'm just a 17-year old kid who doesn't want anyone to talk that bad about one of his childhood idols. If he really killed his family, it was because he was mentally ill and therefore wasn't responsible for the murder. But still, there are just too many weird things in this case to be completely true. Or maybe it's just me not wanting to believe that he killed his family. I dunno.

He still deserves to be respected and mentioned as a wrestling legend, because that is what he dedicated his life to - wrestling. Respect him atleast.

If someone was a good person, did lots of charity work, did good stuff for the community, and then killed one of your family members, would you respect them? Of course you wouldn't. How anyone can respect a murderer is beyond me. I get it Benoit was mentally ill, but being in the position he was in, in a loving family, and a fairly supportive company, I'm sure there was support out there, and I'm pretty sure he knew he was ill or someone at least spotted it. And please, don't get me started on the Kevin Sullivan Conspiracy theory, it's the biggest bullshit ever, created by Benoit marks to try and defend him and question whether he did it. Of course he did it, I'm pretty sure the Police will have investigated the Sullivan story, and honestly in this day and age with all the foresnic technology it would be EXTREMELY hard to stage a mass murder in which it looks like one guy killed his wife and kids.

I'm not saying don't be a fan, and I'm not telling people to stop respecting him if they do respect him. I'm just tired of seeing people defending and idolizing a guy that murdered his innocent family. If anyone should be having threads made about them in respect it should be Daniel and Nancy, not a murderer.

I've already said my thoughts on WWE mentioning Benoit. It's fine to give him a mention every now and then, such as at Rumble time, bu tit should be very limited, mainly because I don't want to think about what happened anymore than I have to, and I know as soon as WWE mentions him, that's the first thing that will come to my mind.

Also, along with Verne Gagne and Kevin Sullivan, Jimmy Snuka was never proven innocent or guilty in the Nancy Argentino Death where he was the only suspect and it's almost certain foul play was involved.

This is honestly one of the worst things I've ever seen posted on the internet.

You are only 17 so I'll cut you some slack and put it down to naivety (not trying to be patronising here btw) but putting any sort of stock into those dumbass conspiracy theories is a massive error on your part.

Come on man, you are better than this trash.

"who are you to call Benoit a murderer", I mean really, are you even serious with that or just trolling.

It kinda fucks up some history not allowing him to be mentioned but I can't really blame WWE and don't exactly disagree with it. There is some bad shit people can do that you can eventually forgive them for but killing a woman and not only a kid but a with a disease at that is just hard to look over. The whole brain of a 80 year old thing doesn't fly with me simply because last I checked 80 year old people aren't going around killing people they love.

But anyways I don't think they will ever get to the point where they will be able to feel comfortable enough to unerase him from history.

Re-opening this thread because it's a decent discussion albeit a touchy subject. So long as there's no personal attacks on posters then there's no reason for this to not continue.

Onto the subject in hand, my opinion is plain and simple and that's Chris Benoit is a scumbag. I don't care if he was the greatest professional wrestler alive, a devoted charity man or whatever, the fact still remains that he took two innocent peoples lives and for that he should rot in hell. Anyone looking for conspiracy theories just purely and simply can't accept him for what he is, scum.

I think the WWE did the right thing in erasing him from the history books and I have absolutely no problems with that, however I also wouldn't be against them using his name when absolutely necessary so they long as they don't promote or celebrate him. Like for example I wouldn't mind if they just said Shawn Michaels was the first of X amount of people to win the Rumble from the #1 spot. That way history still remains and they're not promoting the guy either.

Benoit, Benoit, Benoit... Where do we started?

The ideals of this discussion is over the top, aimless has came down to what is typical "He's Scum!" "He should be remembered!" etc. etc. Ultimately it's down to personal opinion and this thread is just gonna be blueberry, which has already been proven.

The main arguments is "he's a down right murder! should rot in hell, etc" versus "but he was a great technical wrestler" but goddamn, ALMOST all of you are ignoring the facts of the case, and none of us know the personal surroundings of the events. Presuming, Chris Benoit just killed them in cold blood is kinda wrong, ultimately in English law, we have a lovely defense called "Diminished Responsibility" and I think it certainly a reasonable way to look at Benoit.

The man had medical evidence pointing towards Brain Damage and something made him snap, none of us know what that is, but something caused Benoit to kill, was Benoit sound of mind when he did this? We won't know, but the evidence points towards Benoit's state of mind was certainly abnormal and once again, I'm having to speculate that Benoit/Nancy had hardcore bondage role play fetish (according to Kevin Sullivan), so many he lost his senses and genuinely believed he had to kill Nancy and who knows with Daniel.

So do I judge Benoit to be scum or a murderous heathen? Naw, no point to it, what's the point? Almost all of us grew up watching Benoit being the best frickin' wrestler ever, and when it comes to talking about Benoit, and judging him as a wrestler, that's what we should do, ignore the events surrounding him and his families untimely death and discuss what he did for the business and how good he was.

So all this mud slinging bullshit is just pure childish. Seriously guys, grow up.

If people wanna look past it then they can do it but you can't sit there and say people are Blue because they can't overlook it. I stand by saying I don't care what his reasoning for killing them was I just can't look over that shit tbh mostly because of the kid. Not saying that him killing Nancy wasn't as bad or anything but at least with a grown woman there could possibly be more to what happened but with a kid with a disease who didn't know any better that is just inexcusable.

Benoit was my favorite wrestler when I first seen him at Collision in Korea, and I legit cried when he won the title at WM XX.

Doesn't mean I will overlook the fact that he murdered his wife and son, and thats the lasting memory most people will have of him. Can't defend the undefendable imo.

WWE has all the right to absolve themselves of everything Benoit, he only almost dman near killed the industry with his actions. Who would want to promote a murderer?

Even though I still make Benoit jokes, and I still watch his matches from time to time, it doesn't mean I will ever forget the fact that he murdered his family and fucked up the lives of his other children.

To defend him is more of a hinderance to him and his memory. Eitherway it's still tainted.

Everyone is stuck in the mindset, that he was of sound of mind when he committed the crimes and that pisses me off... No one looks at the issue of objectively, everyone has to have an opinion which isn't well balanced or thought through.

It's impossible to deny he committed the crimes but it's certainly wrong to presume he did it cold blood, regardless of the victim, the point is, there was medical evidence to support he had an abnormality of mind. So fuck knows what he was thinking when he killed Daniel and Nancy? He might have saw them as a threat to him or not.

It's wrong for us to judge without knowing all the facts.

I don't think people are stuck in any mindset, most of the people I know who were major Benoit fans, know all the details. It doesn't mean we can't put the blame soley on him for his actions. Actions are actions, if he didn't bottle up his feelings so much, and added a mix of testosterone and taking unprotected shots to the head for over twenty years, he may have not done what he done. But he still did it.

This is like saying the guy who ate someones face in Florida wasn't his fault because of bath salts.
