We all know today marks the 5th anniversary of Benoit's double murder/suicide.

Is it time that WWE acknowledges his career in the ring and not what he did outside the ring? After all he was a great performer, iTunes is selling his theme song today for the first time and it's already sold a fair amount. Twitter has exploded in thousands of tweet with #RIPBenoit trending. Also WWE Superstars said their half today on Benoit's death.

I personally believe WWE should show what he did in the ring, we all know what he did outside the ring was horrific but with many people speaking about him today... Do you think it's time to move on from his death and actually feature him in some DVD's?

If he was alive where do you think he'd be now?

For starters they can stop trying to rewrite history. When you talk about the Rumble match, you can say that he went from number 1 to win it. There's nothing wrong with that.

Guys, we need to be honest. The WWE wants nothing to do with Chris Benoit. They don't even want to mention his name on WWE Programming. It's sad, that they are blackballing him like this, but although he was a great performer, and hands-down a bonafide hall of famer if he was us today, but the WWE is a publically traded company, they dont focus on the content like we do, they focus on the amount of 0's that are at the end of a cheque, and quite frankly if you're a PG oriented company the last thing you want to do is associate yourself with a killer. It's harsh, but it's who he became, and thats the lasting impression when people think of Chris Benoit. I think of the man that put on tremendous matches. The triple threat with HHH and HBK ohman! But, its sad the WWE wants nothing to do with him.

This.

If WWE can keep it to an extent then it's absolutely fine.

This is the one thing I wish the WWE acknowledged Benoit about. Anytime the Rumble comes up, it's like "Shawn Michaels and some other guy won starting from number one"

I can accept it, but if they are referring to a moment in history and ignoring Benoit at the same time I'd prefer them just to mention him, ie; "Randy Orton won his first world title @ Summerslam 2004 from Chris Benoit".

Plus it's hard on guys like Jericho, Eddie and a few others who's career meshed with Benoit a lot. If the WWE sticks to censoring everything CB related then there will be a whole next generation of fans unable to watch such awesome matches like the Jericho/Benoit IC Title ladder match, or his best of 7 with Booker T, etc.

I don't think it's glorifying murder by showing the entertainer who did it. For example if Michael Jackson went on a killing spree it wouldn't make his music instantly shit because of it, it's still the same great material so why not show it.

Forgot to add, anyone writing 'RIP Benoit' is a sick fuck.

He gave up his right to 'rest in peace' when he murdered a helpless disabled kid and a woman.

RIP Chris Benoit, my favourite in-ring peformer of all time.

But my thoughts on this basically echo #HEELRaghe. We all knew as soon as the information came in and WWE bailed on their Benoit that it was gonna be a LONG time before Chris Benoit was welcomed back to the history books, if ever. That sort of thing doesn't really bother me though, I remember him and so do many others.

I just wish we could see a Best of Benoit DVD.

Would never happen though, but what I was trying to get across here was the fact they need to mention his name as a Royal Rumble winner and such.

I hope that WWE never mention him again. What the guy did was horrific and because of what he should be completely ignored. He doesn't deserve anything and WWE have done a great job so far on writing him out of the history books as much as they have.

He killed his wife and son and should only be remembered as a murderer.

Why?

I'm not saying that what he done was right but he clearly wasnt in the right state of mind and as many have said especially the people that knew him. That wasn't the Chris they knew. He had brain damage and the brain of an 80+ year old Alzheimer patient, most likely steroid abuse and suffering severe depression. But what caused most of that? It's a bad thing to say but the wrestling business. He shouldn't just be forgotten and his legacy erased out of the history books. He gave his all every day week in week out for years to entertain the fans. He was very dedicated and passionate. What he done shouldn't cloud his career. Oh and heck, his dad even said in an interview at one point that he asked his son how many concussions he suffered and Chris said he stopped counting because he's had so many. I read that even 5 or less can do serious damage to you.

That's just the way I think about it. He should be remembered for his career and not what happened with his death.

So he gets a free pass for murdering his family?

No matter what the post mortem brain scans showed, he lived a normal life by all accounts and knew the difference between good and bad. If he was able to con a doctor into giving him a 6 month sub of steroids, he was more than capable of knowing killing someone is wrong.

Everyone needs to stop using all the excuses in the book to defend a child murderer, seriously, I find it absolutely revolting that people like you are saying "forget the murdering innocent people bit, he was a great wrestler!" Like so what?

While we're on this touchy subject.

It's been stated he had the brain of a 80 year old alzheimer's. How is that possible for him to know what's right or wrong then? Yes he did a bad thing, but I will remember him as the best wrestler, not a murderer because he had so much in his head, the drugs, the lot...

You may not agree, but it's each to their own. I don't say your beliefs are bullshit, we all have different opinion and I will choose to respect everyone's opinion instead of ranting and saying bullshit here n there.

I am shocked nobody brought up Verne Gagne, the fact that he is a suspected killer, and still mentioned on tv.

Either way, there is no justification for what he did. Yes he was a great wrestler, and I will still enjoy watching his matches when I can, but I also refuse to forget what he did, A killer is a killer.

It's been stated he had the brain of an 80 yr old Alzheimers patient, yes.

But why did nobody in his workplace or home notice that? Because he lived a very normal life, able to wipe his own arse, turn up to work every day for years until that last week, was able to order steroids, text his colleague to 'feed his dogs' ie; alert him to the possibility something had happened.

The brain injury can't excuse what he did. Even if his head was jello in a skull casing it doesn't mean jack shit, because he lived a normal life and knew what he was doing. He didn't suddenly have a brain fart, kill his family and go "oops, my b", it was a pre planned murder in cold blood.

And I agree on what you've said there. I do. Nobody noticed at all, it's a sad cause.

But I'm not here to speak about his death and what was done.

I'm talking about is it time for WWE to mention small facts about his accomplishments.
