Mt. Hood, ORE--- For the first time in months, ski resorts picked up fresh snow Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Mount Hood Meadows reported a dusting of snow at the base. At the top of the ski hill a couple inches fell overnight. Mt. Hood Meadows Spokesman, Dave Tragethon says it's not uncommon to see snow this early in the fall. While the early snow gets skiers and snowboarders excited for the ski season, it's unlikely the snow will stick around to start the 2011-2012 snow base at local resorts.

Palmer Glacier on Mt. Hood saw one to two inches of snow Wednesday, according to Timberline Lodge spokesman Jon Tullis. Palmer Glacier is open for skiers Friday through Sunday, weather permitting. Tullis says conditions look great for skiing this weekend.

Mt. Bachelor picked up a dusting of snow last weekend. Overnight Tuesday, it picked up an additional couple of inches. Mt Bachelor Spokesman, Andy Goggins says the resort doesn't take official measurements this early in the season because early season snow doesn't count toward the final snowfall total at the end of the season.

Mt. Bachelor is hoping to open Thanksgiving week.

Mt. Hood Meadows wll open as soon as there's enough snow. Last year, the slopes opened on November 20th. "We'll be ready as soon as mother nature cooperates," said Tragethon.

Tragethon says Mt. Hood Meadows needs two to three feet for a limited opening and three to four feet of snow to open the entire mountain.

Kinda crazy that's starting to snow again.
