[Fightful News] Another top NXT Star's Contract Is Up Soon
renderTimingPixel.png

Adam Cole isn't the only person with their NXT deal coming up soon. Fightful Select has learned that Pete Dunne's NXT contract is also up soon, with one source also pointing to "after Summerslam weekend," though we haven't confirmed that date with Dunne or WWE as of yet.
Fightful has heard that the situation was "similar to that of Adam Cole's" but haven't been given any additional details besides that his contract is in fact coming up soon. We haven't been told if Dunne's contract actually expired as Cole's did, leading to a short-term extension. We'll work to gain more details.
  • Source SRS on that Select grind.

He hasn't been doing shit lately somehow despite being vaguely involved in the main event scene (that's odd on it's own).

Wouldn't mind him mixing it up elsewhere or a return to NXT UK bc i assume main roster isn't an option

Dunne isn't really a big loss to the WWE - his worth was inflated by his length with the UK title, but isn't even the best wrestler out of that group of British indie wrestlers.

Agreed, he’s easily one of the most overrated wrestlers out there

Its not at all. Out of the original batch of UK wrestlers that WWE signed - and then the ones they have now. He would be stupid - to not re-sign with the WWE if he was given a contract. Especially - with how shit the UK is scene now NXT: UK and its WWE tentacles have made the whole market fucking shit.

I'd be fairly confident that he stays where he is. Pretty sure he's well liked there and had even been doing a bunch of backstage roles throughout his time.

Wouldn't even be surprised if he's the next champion after Joe either providing he re-signs.

I think he fits the brand - as WWE have invested far too much time in him to let him go. Nothing against him as a wrestler, but I do agree with Dale - that it would be crazy for him to leave.

Other than Cole, I think he's the only other dude they've teased a Joe match with so very possible of Cole leaves. I think they toned that down the last couple weeks tho so idk

And at this point like Juice said, the indy scene isn't what it used to be so NXT UK would probably be his best bet if that's what he wants
