Ok, so lately, people have been very excited because of the wwe draft, and I htink we can all say that most of us are very happy with the way it turned out. A ton of big names moved, and it created a lesser gap between raw and Smackdown.
Now, this opens up a TON of new feuds that we havent seen before. Im not going to list them all, because thats been done, and thats not the point of this thread really... Because, also, thheres a few feuds now, that look to be happening, but some people (and Im not blaming them, its just their opinion) think that it might not be that great because we would've already seen them a while ago...
Well, should that really take the greatness away from the feud? I dont think so. I mean, when guys are in the business for 10-15 years, they are obviously going to meet more than once. Look at these for example...
Austin and Rock met at 3 out of 6 wrestlemanias, every second year from 1999 til 2003.
Austin and McMahon had their feud early, then they were both heels, and were fine with eachothjer, and then had another long lasting facevs heel feud again, just as good though.
Rock and Triple H had a ton of seperate different feuds... In their early years, then for Nation vs DX, then 2 seperae singles feuds, and again for Evolution vs Rok n Sock connection...
Undertaker and Kane had their feud in 97, when Kane debuted as his brother, and they feuded again in 2003 (I think) when Undertaker returned as the deadman.
And of course, Jericho and HBk happened before in the early 2000's in a great feud, and yet it happened again now...

Obviously those are just a few examples, but the point is, 2 superstars will fight eachother many times, it doesnt always have to be a one off... Like take when you were a kid (or are a kid) for example, if you have a fight with a kid at school, and you hate eachother in grade 6, does that mean in grade 10 you wont fight again? No... Feuds can happen more than once and still be good...

Also, I think that for the most part, every time a feud is "redone: with two superstars, it will have a different story... Roles could be reversed (face/heel now heel/face) or it could have a totally different backstory.

For example, the two biggest names in WWE (arguably) Orton and Cena already hooked up in a great feud in 07... Does anyone honestly think they wont meet again in a few years? I think they will, because they are the best the company has to offer, and in a few years, it will be a totally different backstory, and so it wont have to be thought of as "old"

but ya, I guess my point is, IMO, because a feud has been done a number of years ago, which most have, doesnt mean (for me anyways) that it will be stale when it happens again...

So what do you think... If a feud has been done a number of years ago, and it happens again with a different backstory, would you still consider it stale?

For me sometimes it depends on how the backstory is and if it's good enough. For example the Matt Hardy vs. Edge feud. With his girl Lita cheating on him with Edge who is one of your closet friend for years.
Also it depends on if they can put on a good decent matches. For example Batista vs. The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock, Samoa Joe vs. CM Punk.

no i think that if they have a different reason then it won't be stale. But if they have a feud then lets say one of the people in the feud were "banished" from the WWE and then came back in like two months to ruin said heels "wedding" I would say the feud is stale. I mean some feuds can be re-done like the feud should wait a little bit and shouldn't be repeated in like a year, they should wait a little bit longer then that if it was a terrible feud, just don't do it again.

It all depends. Like a HBK/Hart feud would be incredible because of the backstory, but I don't think I'd enjoy another Batista/Triple H feud

I don't feel like going in depth because its a Saturday and I'm fucked, but I will say this.

WWE ruined Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero's feud. It was done to perfection back in WCW. They also ruined Booker and Benoit's legendary best of 7 series, which again, took place in WCW. Usually, when feuds are "re-done" the wrestlers involved arent even half of what they used to be, and it comes off corny.

Depends on the time gap between them and the story behind it. For example we have seen a Batista vs Edge feud lots of times last year and this year again and it had a random story in it not like HBK and Jericho wich grew into a very intense feud with meaning. But some repeated feuds are redone months later with just a random story behind them wich doesn't make it interesting.
I wouldn't mind another Orton vs Cena feud as long as it happens later on and with a good story behind it.

no, they arent ruined, but if you do them too close together, Cena/H for example, it loses its impact.

Depends on the people for me

like Matt Hardy vs. Edge- I'd love to see that one, as long as the storyline is different

but like if Ric Flair came back, and he fueded with Carlito, I'd be pissed because anytime I think of Carlito or Flair all i think about is those like 2-3 months where they "fueded" off and on

depends on the people and if the storyline is new and fresh
