Fans can expect to see a new documentary on the life of legendary pro wrestler Owen Hart.
Screen Daily reports that Kaleidoscope Film Distribution is planning to release a feature length documentary titled, “Owen” in the first quarter of 2021.
Kaleidoscope will handle worldwide sales. Owen’s wife, Dr. Martha Hart, is listed as an executive producer.
The film, which is currently in production, will feature new interviews with Owen’s family and friends. Those interviewed include Bret Hart. There will also be new archival family footage. Per the report, more wrestling contributors involved in the project are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Jo Lewis is directing the film while it’s being produced by Keaton Stone and Western Edge Pictures through Vaughan Sivell.
This comes after the highly praised episode of Vice’s “Dark Side of the Ring” that covered the life and death of Owen. The episode only aired for an hour so this upcoming documentary is expected to cover various experiences in the life of Owen in more detail.
The former WWE star passed away on May 23, 1999 after a tragic accident at the WWE Over the Edge pay-per-view when he was trying to make a superhero-like entrance from the ceiling of the arena while being lowered down.
Great news, anything Owen related is awesome to see.
