80's music > > > 90s/00s/now

Though idk much about rap, but still :pity1:

70s >> 60s >> 90s >> 80s

Early 2000s still had enough great rap that I would consider putting it ahead of the 80s.

What do you like from the 80s? Its a bunch of bullshit that I hear

except Michael Jackson and some rap. MJ is the fucking man

Solo Bootsy Collins, Dio, Black Sabbath with Dio, Run DMC, Bernard Wright, Frank Zappa, Iron Maiden, start of Nine Inch Nails, Primus, Queen and many others were very good in the 80's.

oh ok THANKS DETH

not a fan of anything you mentioned outside of Run DMC or Queen, the latter I associate with the 70s much more so than the 80s. What did Queen even put out in the 80s? Wasn't Freddie busy dying of aids?

Sabbath, again, I don't associate with the 80s in any way.

Can agree with 60s and 70s, but fuck the 90's. Sure things were better then they are now (music, movies, tv, etc) but that's not saying much and I think the whole 90's worship is shit.
Also, how the fuck are you not a fan of Maiden or Dio? UH ARE U blueberry?

I think the 90's was the start of when music started getting incredibly soulless (not to say there wasn't stuff like that before, but still). 80's was full of great stuff, from all genres really. Also a lot of music seemed to be a bit darker (for lack of better term) and more heartfelt.

Heavy Metal in particular released so many fucking classics. Know you're probably not the biggest fan of Metal, hell, Metallica alone released classics that shit on everything to this day + Slayer, Megadeth, Ozzy, Danzig, Judas Priest and more obscure stuff that still stand the test of time a la Mercyful Fate, Diamond Head.

Also post-punk, (actual old school) goth (not gay shit like today) and "wave" stuff was incredible; Joy Division, The Smiths, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, New Order, Siouxsie and the Banshees etc. And again, not including lost/forgotten gems.

There was also a lot of stuff pushing the boundaries or going to extremes.

Anyway, lets see other stuff I can namedrop; Depeche Mode, Blondie, Cocteu Twins, Killing Joke, Swans, King Crimson, The Chameleons , Kare Bush, Roxy Music, etc etc.
