This thread idea is totally original despite what you might think. I'm definitely not lifting the concept from anywhere.

1991:

Nirvana - Nevermind
R.E.M. - Out of Time
Public Enemy- Apocalypse 1991...The Enemy Strikes Back
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Into the Great Wide Open
Soundgarden - Badmotofinger
Smashing Pumpkins - GIsh
Temple of the Dog - Temple of the Dog
RHCP- Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Pearl Jam - Ten
Tribe Called Quest- Low End Theory
Metallica - Metallica

Great year IMO, as I love both the early 90s alt rock and hip hop scenes.

Bonus question: was your birth year better for albums or movies IYO? For me I say albums easily.

I can dig some of it but a lot of it just sounds too dated for me.
True, most of the stuff I was thinking of was actually late 80s anyway, when it was just about ready to transition from 808 to the more beat heavy, dark stuff like Straight Outta Compton and into the early 90s. I've just always felt there was a charm to the slow-paced story telling stuff from back then, like what BDP and Slick Rick were putting out.

Straight Outta Compton is fucking sick. Actually, I had to learn a bit about that song for music class at school, as well as Fight the Power and a few other songs. I do enjoy me some 80's style rapping really.

1994:

Superunknown- Soungarden
Division Bell- Pink Floyd(God I love this album)
The Downward Spiral- Nine Inch Nails
Ready to Die- Biggie Smalls
Giant Robot- Buckethead I love my parents, Star Wars cover, Binge and Grab, Welcome to Bucketheadland>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>so much. Such a solid fucking album.

That's it. Had a pretty solid year, considering the fact grunge took a hard hit with Cobain's death, but Superunknown keeping it a bit strong. The last album by Pink Floyd, that's a heartbreaker in it's own. Biggie's ironic album, and the Nine Inch Nails album that had kids talking about fucking like animals. Giant Robot, I can go on and on about this. Such solid work, by Buckethead, this is his second album and he has that pro sound already. He kicks it up in such a technical way, throughout the whole album, but when it hits I love my parents, that's a real tear jerker that honestly comes out of nowhere since the rest of the album isn't like that, nor was Bucketheadland like that.
