I guess technically it would be wiser to wait for the go home show later on tonight (or tomorrow, in my case) before talking any predictions regarding the upcoming PPV this Sunday but I’ll add my two cents anyway with what we’ve got so far.
So, having gone through what our fellow members already posted above, I can’t say my opinion will really differ and even though there are several cases in which things appear too predictable, I honestly don’t expect any major swerves. They could certainly toy with some ideas in order for storylines to progress as we head to Wrestlemania but for the most part, things appear to be set in stone:
Starting off with the RAW Woman’s title match, I firmly believe it was a mistake to give Bayley the belt to begin with. Yes, it was a great match they had on RAW and I totally get the feel good moment afterwards but on the other hand I think this moment would have felt even better if taken place at the grandest stage. Idk, the timing just didn’t feel right and it almost looks like a rehash of what we’ve already seen with Charlotte and Sasha not so long ago.
As we all know, WWE love them records and/or streaks and given that Charlotte’s case has made to be a very big deal, it is rather obvious that Fastlane cannot be the place and time to break this record, making the outcome rather predictable. Could we see some shady finish in which Bayley can retain while Charlotte maintains that streak? Well, I suppose they could but it’s always a better story when the baby face is chasing and then I also have to think there has to be a limit in regards to the amount of shady finishes WWE could pull off on the same show and on the same night so all in all, I am expecting a clean Charlotte win.
Speaking of shady finishes, I could easily see one coming in the RAW Tag Team Championship match. Once again, I think it’s a matter of good timing and Fastlane I feel is not the right time for a title switch. For one, it would make Anderson and Gallows look stupid yet again (as if they haven’t already suffered enough these past few weeks with this idiotic booking with Roman Reigns) and then, as in Bayley’s case, I believe that Enzo and Cass should have their big moment on a much bigger stage, more so being this will eventually be their very first title victory. Whether Sheamus and Cesaro decide to get involved or if the heels simply pull off heelish tactics to cheat their way to victory, my prediction is that Gallows and Anderson retain.
One more shady finish could very well happen on the Roman Reigns/Braun Strowman match and for what it’s worth, I sure hope so because in my opinion it would be a damn shame if they simply go ahead and feed Strowman to Reigns. Whether it’s a double count out, a DQ of some sorts or the…gong that leads to a distraction I’ll be absolutely fine with. I ain’t really a fan of the Reigns/Undertaker idea for Mania but it is what it is and if there’s any time and place for him to appear and get this story going, this would be it. Roman losing via distraction wouldn’t really hurt him (if anything, it’ll be another good excuse since God forbid Roman ever loses clean) whereas Strowman losing (especially clean) I think would simply kill him so….fingers crossed.
The Cruiserweight Championship match I feel is way too simple to really overanalyze. Is there any reason to take the title off Neville? Don’t think so and enough said…
As far as the Universal title match is concerned, the direction is rather obvious and, once again, while extremely predictable, I honestly can’t see any type of swerve that would lead to KO somehow retaining. What I can see is this match surpassing the minute forty five that Goldberg vs. Lesnar did at Survivor Series and KO look good but at the end of the day, Goldberg will walk out champion and no, I personally don’t expect any interference from Brock Lesnar. Why would he when he knows they can up the ante at Mania with the title on the line? If anything, Jericho makes a lot more sense to show up, though even that I feel may happen (if it does) after the match is over, when KO is already beat and laid out.
Assuming Samoe Joe vs. Sami Zayn is happening, I think we all are on agreance that Samoe Joe must and should go over. Anything else they add I'm sure will be of little importance but if there's anything else worth of talking about, I can always revisit....
