What is your opinion on fanfiction?

Do you find it tolerable at all and/or is there a certain extent/content that makes it intolerable?

Given how closely tied WWE members lives are with their fictional characters does this affect the way you perceive WWE fanfiction as opposed to, say, Star Trek or X-Files?

If people want to make/read fanfiction I won't stop them, but they aren't my cup of tea (or coffee). I'd rather not read something a teenage girl wrote which is sometimes on the border of being pornographic.

Also, this may be in the wrong section. Not sure if it has to be in the off topic section.

Are you talking about the fan-fictions that a lot times you find on Tumblr with say, Ambrose and Seth being "intimate together", for example?

I don't read or look at the illustrations of it but I highly doubt anyone in WWE finds it to be offensive. I think I brought up this topic awhile back because it was the first time I had actually seen something like this. If you google almost any Pokemon's name, you will find a "humanized" version with female features that is far from PG. The only issue I have with things like this is children seeing or reading about them. If adults want to have a laugh over it fine but there has to be a line drawn when it comes to kids. I don't think really anyone here would have this as their cup of anything but it is an interesting topic. More on WWE fan-fictions... they are almost always based on a character, not the actual person. Like there is a difference between writing about Dean Ambrose vs Jonathan Good. I think this is why the wrestlers themselves don't take it personally.

If you want "wrestling fanfictions" either look in the BTB section, or any e-fed :dawg:

And I've been part of a few. Dw, we're all nerds here.

Mine bordered on tumblr type illustrations....
I wanted nothing to do with it!! :upset:

But yeah I didn't even think of that. BTB and e-feds are essentially fan-fictions but most of those aren't bordering or knee deep in pornographic things.
One of our members here wrote a "special" story which I would put into that category. lol

Not a huge fan of wrestling fan pics, but would totally recommend you check out @DemonHunter1257's Sasha Banks fan fiction. Wouldn't be surprised if it wins a Nobel Prize tbh

I only assume fanfiction means that Demonhunter tail of love and intimacy. True classic. Must read.

Where yo' grandma stay.
Fan fiction bought us 50 shades of grey...Dragonball AF...need I go on! In terms of Wrestling fan fiction, I don't seek it out, not a fan of reading about Sasha and Bailey having passionate Lesbian sex while triple H watches coressing the NXT women's championship.

On a serious note, If anything I'd say we fans are more interested in just doing our own thing with our own characters. Which is why e-feds exist. Alternatively some might just want to manage or book WWE differently thus we have BTB's a.k.a Fantasy booking. Fan fiction in the traditional sense really doesn't work for a product that presents itself as a sport.

Its an...interesting topic to discuss...but
I have to be honest I stay away from the
stuff...always have no matter what the
fandom is.

I do read the kaiju war chronicles...

Kaiju War Chronicles (K.W.C.)

but that is about monsters fighting rather than...
Sasha and Bayley having passionate Lesbian sex while triple H watches caressing the NXT women's championship.
Wait...does Stephanie know about this?

No!!! must...ignore...fan fiction...

Yes, but actually when I first started this little research project into WWE fandom I found that a lot of the recent fanfiction is omegaverse where Kevin Owens is mpreg. Seth Rollins as well but mostly Kevin Owens.

I'm really interested in what people think of WWE fan fiction because it's become really taboo to do RPF and technically that's all that WWE fanfiction is. It's sort of a gray area, though, because the people really overlap with their character so much.

Well...with wrestling...the circumstances are kind of strange...as they are actually
living, breathing people...some of which perform under their own name.

Secondly...its important to remember that these performers are portraying
"characters" (And I use that term loosely)...but these characters exist in
"real life" as appose to say an actor portraying a character in a film.

A movie character exists in their own movie-based universe...where as
wrestlers exist in our real universe...and shows like Total Divas & Bellas
go out of their way to show that.

Case and point would be The Miz & Maryse...in character...both are stuck up,
match cheating snobs...but you watch them in Total Divas...and they seem like
a great couple...and the fact Maryse is a dog person makes her so likeable...
at least it does to me.

I guess what I'm saying is that there is a difference between a WWE wrestler
and a movie/game/book/whatever else character...because the wrestler exists
in real life...in our world.

I understand people "shipping" couples...especially same sex couples...and hell...
I'll admit being bisexual myself...seeing an openly gay or lesbian couple would be
great...(And while the Mickie James/Trish Stratus affair/feud was entertaining...it
was also very negative in many ways) but...its a subject that may-be to hard for
the WWE to do right...mainly because of the writers...I mean would they have the
skill and tact to handle an openly homosexual relationship? Plus...I mean would
the Network give it the green light in this now PG era?

And while I'm on this topic...a same sex relationship would not be hard to do right...
Simply show two people of the same gender in love. It really is that simple...because
as far as I'm concerned...love is too powerful an emotion to be restricted by gender.

Age and Species...Yes...but not by gender...

Wait...what was I talking about? Oh Yeah...so fan fiction...I generally stay away from it...
but I understand why people write it...whether its for emotional or sexual reasons...or
if its just a way to be creative with "characters" you like.

Oh...and if I did "ship" a couple...well...it would be Charlotte & Becky...and why?

Well...I just think they'd make a nice couple.

I'm not sure what the meaning behind it is, but you can find both males and females in fan fiction that are pregnant, it being more common among bigger characters. Owens appearing pregnant is not shocking. I don't really have an opinion on it other than my issue with children seeing the more pornographic aspect of these pictures by mistake. Like I said, it isn't something I actually go looking for lol

The role-playing aspect of it, like e-feds and be the booker, those areas can go either way. It depends on who runs them and who joins them. E-feds involve made up/self made characters where as most btb involve real wrestling characters. Again, no issue with people doing these things but when kids see the more graphic stories, it is not a good thing.

I guess it is an area of "art" that can't really be rated so it is up to the parents to make sure kids aren't reading or viewing the more graphic stuff. I avoid it out of preference, it is not my cup of tea.
I think it is considered legal if you are a public figure or character to be portrayed as/in art anyways. Prime examples of this can be seen with political figures.
