Montana, have you heard of the Kliq/Clique?

One of the more talked-about actions involving the Kliq was the Madison Square Garden Incident (MSG) , which took place on May 19, 1996 and involved all of the Clique except for Waltman (who was home nursing an injury at the time). At the time of the incident, Hall and Nash were about to leave the WWF for WCW. At a major WWF house show in Madison Square Garden, Michaels and Levesque (as Helmsley) worked separate singles matches with Hall and Nash. Earlier in the card, Levesque worked a match, as a heel, with Scott Hall (as Razor Ramon) in which the departing Hall would job to Levesque to put him over. Later, in the main event, Michaels, as a face, worked a steel cage match with Nash (as Diesel), as a heel, in which the departing Nash would job to Michaels to put him over. Immediately after the match, Hall walked towards the ring, came in, and hugged Michaels. This was not seen as a problem, since both Hall and Michaels were faces in the storylines. But after Hall and Michaels hugged, Levesque walked towards the ring, got in, and also hugged Hall, despite working a match earlier in which Hall was a face and Levesque was a heel. Then, Nash stood up after being pinned by Michaels and all four shared a prolonged group hug.

Their actions in the "Curtain Call" scandalized WWF management, who at the time wanted to maintain the illusion that the supposed antipathy between faces and heels was real and that they were not friends outside the ring. It is reported in Michaels book, Heartbreak and Triumph, that Vince Mcmahon was initially ok with the incident, but did not expect them to take it so far. It is alleged (according to Kevin Kelly's commentary on the October 20th 1997 edition of Monday Night RAW) that the incident created a furor behind the scenes in the locker room, and that several superstars (said to have included The British Bulldog) had to be restrained from engaging in physical interaction with the Clique superstars.

Because Michaels was the WWF Champion at the time and was one of the promotion's biggest drawing cards, the WWF feared that punishing him would hurt its business. Hall and Nash were soon to leave for WCW (Hall arrived just over one week later, Nash three weeks later), so they escaped punishment. The punishment fell solely on Levesque; he was demoted from championship contender to jobber to the stars, although he did win the WWF Intercontinental Championship five months later.

This punishment turned out to have a major impact on the WWF's future. Before the MSG Incident, Levesque had been booked to win the King of the Ring tournament late that spring, but instead was booked to job to Jake "The Snake" Roberts (a finalist in the King Of The Ring that year). The winner of this title traditionally received a large push toward stardom. However, the incident led the WWF to change the booking for the tournament. The King of the Ring title would instead go to Stone Cold Steve Austin; his win (and subsequent "Austin 3:16" speech) started his rise toward mainstream superstardom and helped the WWF defeat WCW in their business wars. Levesque's punishment only delayed his rise to prominence in the business, as he would go on to win the following year's King of the Ring and later went on to hold the World Heavyweight Championship multiple times for extended periods, beginning with his WWF Championship victory over Mick Foley the night after Summerslam 1999.

Yep, if that didn't happen there might not have been an Attitude Era, for there would be no Austin, but then again HHH would be a main eventer one year earlier... so it definitely changed history greatly. Needs to be in top 10 maybe over the WM 20 thing. DX also made a joke about it the next night, playing it on the titantron, actually coming out of kayfabe on live TV. =p

wow, I disagree 100% on that. Theres no way that deserves top 10. If that was a top 10 moment for 25 years, than i've been wasting my time watchin wrestling ha ha. just kiddin. I remember that happeneing although, didnt know about the whole HHH winning the KOTR or was supposed to.

The whole "Clique" thing wasnt even real anyways. The Clique was always the fans. To me, that event was nothing, everyone knew hall and nash were leaving. Just saying goodbye.

Also its not like that was on a live taping, it was a house show. They didnt even have to show it on programming.

I even looked this up in the wrestling almanac where they show memorable dates and events and it wasnt even listed, Although they put Hall and Nash signed with wcw, appear on wcw, and attack bischoff.

I agree with your list Montana but I would add a couple events/moments

1.)The "Real World's Champion" comes to WWF/E

2.)Even though the storyline was pretty shitty imo, The WWE/WCW/ECW Invasion was a big moment in pro wrestling.

3.)Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels Iron Man match (wrestlemania 12)

4.)Alundra Blayze throws the WWF/E Women's title in the garbage on WCW Nitro

5.)Rock vs Hogan Wrestlemania 18

and finally 6.)Curtain Call: The MSG Incident

i only agree with 5 and 6 but, if we are going to add matches i suggest we add :

1)Rock vs austin 3rd time at WM19 .
2)Y2J when he became the 1st undisputed champion after defeating austin and the rock at vengeance 2001
3)undertaker vs flair at WM18 when he completed the 10-0 .
4) the 1st elimination chamber match at survivor series 2002 i think .

BERLIN (AP) — Better check your Facebook settings before posting a party invitation online.

A teenage girl in Germany who forgot to mark her birthday invitation as private on Facebook fled her own party when more than 1,500 guests showed up and around 100 police officers, some on horses, were needed to keep the crowd under control.

Eleven people were temporarily detained, one police officer was injured, dozens of girls wearing flip-flops cut their feet on broken glass and firefighters had to extinguish two small fires at the 16th birthday party in Hamburg, police spokesman Mirko Streiber said.

The birthday girl, identified only as Thessa, went into hiding, Streiber said, but “nonetheless the party was a hit.â€

Thessa had initially only wanted to ask some friends over to her home in Hamburg-Bramfeld when she posted her invitation on Facebook, but mistakenly she published it so that everyone on Facebook could see it.

The invitation quickly went viral, and some 15,000 people confirmed online they would come to the party — without even knowing the girl, weekly paper Bild am Sonntag reported.

When Thessa’s parents found out, they made their daughter cancel the party, informed police and hired a private security service to protect their home on Friday night.

Despite public announcements in Hamburg that the party had been canceled, some 1,500 teenagers and young adults showed up on the street in front of Thessa’s home, Streiber told The Associated Press.

“We had cordoned off the house, some 100 police were on the ground, four of them on horses — but that did not keep the kids from celebrating,†Streiber said.

Some revelers held up signs asking “Where is Thessa?†others brought birthday presents and homemade cake, there was lots of alcohol and the crowd chanted again and again, “Thessa, celebrating a birthday is not a crime,†— in obvious relation to the massive police presence, Bild reported.

The police officer was injured when he tried to keep a party reveler from breaking off the Mercedes-Benz logo of his patrol car.

“It was sheer insanity but mostly peaceful,†Streiber summed up the night with a laugh.

As for Thessa — she was nowhere to be seen. Police confirmed she “was not at home that night†and Bild reported that she celebrated quietly with her grandparents at an undisclosed location.
